H-1B Visa Atrocities and Generation Z

A generation raised amid broken homes, economic collapse, and endless war now faces a final insult: being replaced by foreign workers in their own country. The H-1B visa scandal reveals a deeper question—will America invest in its youth, or abandon them?

H-1B Visa Atrocities and Generation Z
As home prices soar and job security remains elusive, the traditional markers of adulthood may remain forever beyond their grasp unless America prioritizes developing its own citizens over importing foreign labor.

The declared purpose of the H-1B visa program was to supplement American white-collar workers with top foreign professionals whose unique skills could not be found here.

Instead, it has been used for 35 years to hire cheaper foreign grads rather than young Americans, and to lay off and replace tens of thousands of American IT professionals with cheap foreign workers. Meanwhile, this program, intended for “temporary” workers, was changed into a pathway to permanent residence. Most H-1B visas are granted for IT, so that by 2018, three-quarters of Silicon Valley jobs were estimated to be held by non-citizens.

Even beyond ending these blatant abuses, there is a deeper and broader issue. A new generation, Generation Z, now entering into adult responsibilities, has been badly damaged under the ruins of our collapsing culture of most of this century.

It has been called the “no future” generation.

By now, most of its men believe they will never be able to own a home or raise a family. But they are the future of our country—for good or ill. Already, Millennials and Gen-Z will comprise over half the electorate by 2028.

If we want to rescue this cohort from cynicism, apathy or worse, we must enforce the principle that we educate, upgrade and advance our young citizens right here at home—rather than replacing them by foreigners.

Abuses of H-1B

One authority has written,

“The H-1B visa program was created to bring temporary workers into the United States to perform additive, high-skilled functions, but it has been deliberately exploited to replace, rather than supplement, American workers with lower-paid, lower-skilled labor….
“The number of foreign STEM workers in the United States has more than doubled between 2000 and 2019, increasing from 1.2 million to almost 2.5 million, while overall STEM employment has only increased 44.5 percent during that time…. And the key facilitator for this influx of foreign STEM labor has been the abuse of the H-1B visa.
“In addition, some of the most prolific H-1B employers are now consistently IT outsourcing companies…. To take advantage of artificially low labor costs incentivized by the program, companies close their IT divisions, fire their American staff, and outsource IT jobs to lower-paid foreign workers.
“Further, the abuse of the H-1B visa program has made it even more challenging for college graduates trying to find IT jobs, allowing employers to hire foreign workers at a significant discount to American workers….

The “authority” we are quoting here is President Trump, writing in his Sept 19, 2025 Proclamation, “Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers,” which caused a “panic” in Silicon Valley—see below.  He went on:

Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION The H-1B nonimmigrant visa program was created to bring temporary workers into the United
“One software company was approved for over 5,000 H-1B workers in FY 2025; around the same time, it announced a series of layoffs totaling more than 15,000 employees.  Another IT firm was approved for nearly 1,700 H-1B workers in FY 2025; it announced it was laying off 2,400 American workers in Oregon in July.  A third company has reduced its workforce by approximately 27,000 American workers since 2022, while being approved for over 25,000 H-1B workers since FY 2022….
“American IT workers have reported they were forced to train the foreign workers who were taking their jobs and to sign nondisclosure agreements about this indignity as a condition of receiving any form of severance.”

On the numbers, parenthetically: Initial H-1B visas granted have run about 100-200,000 per year for the last five years, and H-1B visa extensions for those already here, about 200-300,000 per year. The total between the two is about 300-400,000 per year. Combined visas for their dependents have averaged about 95-120,000 per year. It is estimated that the program has added about 1.3 million to the US population.

The blatant violation of “America First” principles through the massive abuse of the H-1B program has sparked justified outrage, and provided grist for the mill of the corrupt fake news which is trying to conjure up a split in MAGA.

What the President is Doing

But you already know—from his own words quoted above—that President Trump is fully aware of all of these problems—and that he is committed and acting to correct them.

He went on to write that,

“The severe harms that the large-scale abuse of this program has inflicted on our economic and national security demand an immediate response.”

He imposed a $100,000 employer fee per H-1B visa to end the use of the program for cheap labor—plugging a huge loophole.  Additionally, since July, his Department of Homeland Security has pursued a reform intended to limit entry-level positions—competing with our university graduates—to roughly 10% of the 85,000 annual H-1B visas granted by lottery. Other changes appear to be needed as well.

A newer aspect of the controversy which is being fanned, is that President Trump supports temporary importation of foreign workers to teach our own workers the new industrial processes required in new industries being built here by his $20 trillion of foreign investment. These would include advanced chipmaking, and the cutting-edge shipbuilding being brought to Philadelphia from South Korea. The President insists that these will be temporary workers—unlike what the H-1B program has become. Others oppose bringing them here—we think short-sightedly—but we will not pursue this further here.

The Lost Boys of Generation Doom

We have to face the reality of Generation-Z, born roughly 1997-2012, which sooner rather than later will lead our country and the world. As we said, already by our 2028 Presidential election, Gen-Z and the Millennials will comprise over half the electorate.

This is a generation of which no less than half come from broken homes. For 2016 high school seniors, the data showed: 50% living with both married biological parents; 23% with birth mother only; 6% with birth father only; and 21% in other arrangements (e.g., step-parents, grandparents, foster care, or cohabiting parents).

Now think back over the chain of historic disasters which has shaped their lives: Sept 11, 2001, which was used to put the nation at war continuously for two decades. China’s admission to the WTO on Dec 11, 2001, doomed what remained of American industry.

Then came the Great Crash of 2008 in which millions were thrown out of their homes, followed by the Great Bailout of the upper 5%--eventually making America, and American homes unaffordable for most.

Obama’s second inauguration in 2012 marked a turning point for #MeToo, for what became the Black Liberation Movement, for DEI, and for LBGTQ+ transgenderism. It all meant that White men were irredeemably bad, “deplorable.” They were the only minority which had no rights—only wrongs.

Insane Covid rules kept them home alone for months on end and aborted their education. A stolen election was followed by the fraud of Jan 6, 2021. Those who obediently went to college wound up tens of thousands of dollars in debt, or more—but often jobless.

As home prices spiral further out of reach and the average new car costs $50,000, they believe they’ll never be able to own a home or raise a family. One says, “I’m giving my life to a company to afford groceries and rent.”

Who’s Listening to Nick Fuentes?

No surprise that they don’t believe in our institutions at all, or that millions listen to Nick Fuentes. Tucker Carlson and Sohrab Ahmari have pointed out much of this in interviews with Nikki Haley’s son Nalin.

What does it mean for us here?

We must insist that the nation’s first responsibility is to develop its citizens—and the myriad abuses of the H-1B program must be forcefully ended to demonstrate that that is indeed our actual policy.

We must bring our young people to the highest peaks of knowledge, education, science, technology and productivity. We must show them the opportunities that exist for them. Like most Americans, they have absolutely no idea of the huge upshift President Trump is right now bringing to our physical economy—his upcoming national tour should help to spread the word.

We must inspire them to seize these opportunities—and here, Gen-Z leaders can step forward to inspire their peers.

Upgrading the knowledge and skill of our people requires an all-of-society commitment. Industry must step forward alongside government, as George Westinghouse and Henry Ford once demonstrated. Major manufacturers should partner with our great universities—Ford and GM could approach the University of Michigan and say, "This is what we need for America's future. Tell us how you can provide it, and we'll tell you what we'll do to help you."

The University of Michigan would then work with high schools to end their obsession with DEI and restore literacy and basic competence in primary and secondary education. This is how we build the productive workforce that will secure our nation's future.

The path forward is clear: we must commit to developing our own citizens rather than seeking replacements abroad.

President Trump's economic revolution provides the framework. The question now is whether we have the will to execute it. We invite you to join this fight—to help conceptualize and implement the policies that will rescue Generation Z from cynicism and restore America as the land of opportunity. The time for action is now. Will you answer the call?
