The story then turns to Jeffrey Sachs and the economic “shock therapy” imposed on Bolivia and post-Soviet Russia. Mike connects these policies to the neoliberal ideology that later accelerated American deindustrialization through NAFTA, the WTO, and globalization.
America is now confronting the consequences as manufacturers, shipyards, construction companies, and the power grid struggle to find skilled workers. Mike argues that the country is losing generations of industrial knowledge that cannot be replaced by academic credentials.
