The Empire Today
Michael Shellenberger spoke at the Australian Parliament. He reported that two staffers for the governing party told him the government needs more power to censor.
Their example was coverage of the upcoming US execution of Nidal Hasan. Think about that. A government wants the power to control what its own people see about an event in another country.
Shellenberger went further:
"They also admitted that they did not know that the bill would allow the government to create and operate an unlimited number of fake social media accounts to attack its political enemies and spread disinformation."
Barbara sees the same Orwellian control model in what Prime Minister Carney is doing in Canada. She sees it in what is happening in Germany.
That is the British imperial system at work. It cannot win the argument, so it tries to shut the argument down.
Well, that was wild. I'm at the Australian Parliament and just left a meeting with two staffers for the governing party. They told us that the government needed more power to censor things like the upcoming US execution of Nidal Hasan.
Meanwhile, America is building. On October 10, White House trade adviser Peter Navarro held a press conference on the "American renaissance in manufacturing."
He reported more than 500 manufacturing projects announced since Trump took office. That is close to $400 billion in investment and about 164,000 direct jobs.
Those projects span 43 states and nine sectors. Roughly half are greenfield. Half are revived brownfield sites, where factories are coming back to life.
Trump is setting the strategic agenda too. Last Friday brought a deal for Russian diesel to supply the US and world markets, under a Treasury license through April 2027.
On Sunday, President Trump announced an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. Trump moves. The Empire scrambles to respond.
