New Energy Secretary Chris Wright Launches Drive for Abundant, Cheap Energy to Power the American Dream

Providing plentiful, cheap energy is the basis of President Trump’s promise of a new American Golden Age. Not only will slashing energy prices cut the cost of living, thanks to the large portion which energy represents in the cost of food and all consumer goods. It is equally true that in order to bring back industry and reindustrialize our country, we must double our energy production, while cutting energy costs in half—as President Trump has said.

In Chris Wright, President Trump has found the perfect man to implement this program as his Energy Secretary. Among his many qualifications, Chris was CEO of Liberty Energy, the nation’s second-largest fracking concern, and a member of the board of Oklo Inc., a pioneer in advanced nuclear fission. He has studied both fields intensively, and has campaigned publicly for an energy policy like President Trump’s.

Immediately after his confirmation by the Senate, Wright promulgated his first Secretarial Order.

Secretary Wright Acts to “Unleash Golden Era of American Energy Dominance”

U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright signed his first Secretarial Order today directing the Department of Energy to take immediate action to unleash American Energy in accordance with President Trump’s executive orders.

• 1. We will achieve energy abundance and energy dominance, rather than the (pseudoscientific) goal of “net (carbon) neutrality.”
• 2. Research and development “will prioritize affordable, reliable, and secure energy technologies, including fossil fuels, advanced nuclear, geothermal, and hydropower.” Not windmills. Also, “true technological breakthroughs – such as nuclear fusion, high-performance computing, quantum computing, and AI…”

Biden’s ban on natural gas exports is overturned. Consumers can choose the appliances they want without regulatory coercion. The Strategic Petroleum Reserve will be refilled. The nuclear weapons stockpile will be modernized. One of the greatest leaps forward is something Promethean Action has fought for as a major mission. Wright will strengthen the grid’s reliability and security, and reform permitting. Both are vital. Every infrastructure project in the US is subject to years of unnecessary delays in permitting, and the delays pyramid the costs. This effectively makes big infrastructure “illegal,” as Elon Must has said—and makes nuclear the most illegal of all.
